RadioShake Privacy Policy

RadioShake is a free internet radio player for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data RadioShake collects and how it is used.

Data We Collect

RadioShake does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Specifically:

We do not require account creation or login
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or location
We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone (beyond audio playback), or files

Data Stored on Your Device

RadioShake stores the following data locally on your device only:

Favourite stations — stations you mark as favourites
Listening history — recently played stations
Cached station data — station metadata from radio-browser.info for offline access
App preferences — your theme and playback settings

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

RadioShake connects to the following external services to function:

radio-browser.info — a free, open, community-maintained directory of internet radio stations. When you browse or search for stations, RadioShake queries this API. The API may log your IP address per its own privacy policy.
Radio station streams — when you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's stream server. Each station operator has their own privacy practices.
flagcdn.com — used to display country flag images. No personal data is sent.

Permissions

Internet — required to stream radio stations and fetch station data
Foreground Service (Media Playback) — required to keep audio playing when the app is in the background
Wake Lock — prevents the device from sleeping during playback
Bluetooth Connect — used to auto-resume playback when Bluetooth audio connects
Post Notifications — used to show the media playback notification

Children's Privacy

RadioShake does not knowingly collect data from children. The app does not collect data from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
