What RadioShake is
RadioShake is a free internet radio app. It is a player, not a broadcaster. It does not host, re-encode, store or redistribute any station's audio. When you press play, your own device connects directly to the broadcaster's public stream address and plays what the broadcaster is sending. RadioShake does not record or keep copies of that audio. Where song recognition is used, a short sample of what is playing is analysed to identify the song and is not kept after matching.
Station details (name, stream address, country, genre and logo address) come from radio-browser.info, a community-run directory of internet radio stations. We do not write or control that data. Station logos are shown only so listeners can recognise a station.
For broadcasters and rights holders
If a station is listed in RadioShake and you are the broadcaster or a rights holder, and you would like it removed or its details corrected, please email contact@radioshake.media with:
- the name of the station, as it appears in RadioShake;
- the stream address (URL) of the station;
- something that shows you represent the station or the rights holder, for example a message from an address on the station's own website, or a link to the station's own page naming you.
Here is what happens next:
- We aim to reply within 5 working days.
- If your request checks out, we add the station to RadioShake's blocklist. The blocklist is built into the app, so the station stops playing and stops appearing for everyone once they update to the app version that includes the change. We will let you know when it is done.
- Because RadioShake only displays what the directory lists, we also suggest you correct or remove the entry at its source, so it does not come back through other apps. You can do that at radio-browser.info.
If a station is simply listed with the wrong name, country or logo, tell us what is wrong and we will look at it, and the same fix at radio-browser.info will correct it everywhere.
Stations in the UK and EEA
To respect music-licensing rules, some curated directory stations are unavailable in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. In those regions RadioShake lists stations from your own country, and international stations show a notice that they are currently unavailable in your region for licensing reasons. Elsewhere the full directory is available. Details are in the privacy notice under Regional Availability.
Streams that listeners add themselves
Listeners can add a stream address of their own, or import a playlist file. Those streams are chosen by the listener, are stored only on their device, and are not part of any RadioShake directory. People who add a stream are responsible for having the right to listen to it. If you think someone is pointing RadioShake at a stream they should not, email us the stream address using the details above.
Reporting from inside the app
In the Android app, listeners can use Report this station on the Now Playing screen, or Report content in Settings, to email us about a station.
On iPhone, email us at contact@radioshake.media with the station name and its stream address, as described above.
